Franklin Clinic with Claire Llewelyn

Franklin Balls were developed in Germany by Dr Eric Franklin, originally to help sports people but they have now been developed to help Equestrians. I have attended a course to learn how these work and am now trained in their use. The balls are different sizes and shapes, either filled with air or water, which are used in different ways, for example under seat bones, thighs and armpits to help riders develop their balance, core strength, straightness and suppleness. They help identify areas riders need to work on, and also really show how the rider influences the horse’s way of going. We have found that horses become more forward, relaxed and straighter and riders become more ‘bodily aware’. It’s absolutely fascinating!

BRC Area 7 Novice and Intermediate Winter Dressage qualifier 2024 29th September at Bury Farm As part of British Riding Riding,   we're the most Northely club with Stevenage and Shillington down the most southerly, From Bozeat in the west to Cambridge in the east , we're part of Area 7. There is a Summer season 1st-April and a winter season from 1st October.   WARC will pay the pre-entry fees (around £12 per class ) to BRC and members enter via team manager. Once schedules are out, team mangers will organize entries   ( as a team member you will also be an individual ). The qualifiers are run by clubs within Area 7, and a pre-requiste is for every team or 3 individual entries we will provide 1 helper.  This might be to help set up the course/dressage board, or on the day stewarding, arena party etc. Without this valuable help, these competitions cannot run. Competitions are run under the BRC rules and the rulebook can be download from https://www.bhs.org.uk/british-riding-clubs/brc-handbook/ The winter dressage is being organised by Milton Keynes and will be at Bury Farm, LU7 9BT
