Membership

The process for becoming or re-joining as a member of Wittering Academy has changed.

British Riding Clubs have introduced a brand new online membership system operated centrally. This means that you no longer join directly through us. The system they use (Sport80) is similar to our existing online competition entry system through My Riding Life and includes a £1.50 admin charge. The system will keep your personal details safe and it is very easy to use.

The Full Annual Membership for 2024 will be £32 (senior or junior). There will be no half year memberships, as whatever day you join you will get a full 12 month’s membership from that date. There will be a slightly reduced additional family member rate (£28) available for anyone in your household under the same email address who wishes to join the club (and only a single £1.50 admin fee if you pay at the same time).

In order to enter British Riding Club Qualifiers you must be a member on date we have to submit preliminary entries to BRC ( ie 21 days BEFORE the competition). Junior members are under 18 on the 1st January.

Please be aware that BRC no longer post out plastic membership cards. You will receive welcome information from BRC when joining and the regular BRC eNews mailings.  There are a small number of members that do not have access to email, in this event BRC will post out a letter to confirm membership upon request.

Membership fees for 2024 (all subject to a £1.50 admin fee per transaction)
£32 – Full Riding Member – senior or junior (Annual Membership)
£28 – Family Member (Annual Membership)

A Family Discount applies where more than one member resides at the same address and uses the same email address. The first member will pay £32 and any further family members will pay only £28 for membership. Only one transaction fee will apply if paid for at the same time.

JOIN / RENEW – NB this will take you to the Sport80 website so please note the instructions below before you leave our site and PLEASE BE PATIENT.

As a new member you will need to create an account. You will be asked to put in your contact details, to accept the terms of both BRC and Sport80 privacy policy and BRC’s marketing and special offer communications.

As an existing member wanting to renew, the system should recognise your email as an existing member but you will need to click ‘Forgot Password‘ to set a new one. You will also need to read and accept as above. Existing members can also view and edit profile to make  any amendments to your details, add emergency contacts etc.

In both cases, you will either see a pop up straight away with a drop down to ‘Select your membership’  OR

once in your profile you should see a button which says ‘Add Club Membership’– if not, then click on ‘Club Memberships’ from the left column and then you should see that button. Click that and search for and choose Wittering Academy RC. Don’t worry if as a renewing member, you see a 2023 ‘lapsed membership’ in red.

You should then be given the option to ‘Select’ your membership type.  You can then tick ‘auto-renew’ or pay a one off for 2024 (that’s entirely up to you).

It all seems to depend on your operating system and whether you are on a laptop, phone or tablet as to which route it takes you though.

The majority of you will choose ‘Full Annual Membership’. If you have additional family members, you can add those too before you checkout.

Everything should be straightforward from there as you get taken to the payment section.

Once you’ve been successful you should receive a confirmation email for your payment.

Do keep a note of your password as you’ll need it to login in the future to check or change any details or…to renew for 2025!.

If you have an issue there is a ‘Contact Support’ button in the bottom right on the Sport80 page or please do get in touch.
